staayed overnight as early flight. everything was as it should be. nice food, nice drinks, nice clean room, very good in the morning, food available pre flight which always helps. as smooth as always. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
We stayed here as we were attending a concert at the World Resorts arena nearby and thought this would be a convenient location. After checking in we decided to eat in the hotel to save time as we wouldn't have much time to get to the arena. We ordered pizza and chips which came quickly, chips were under cooked but apart from that it was fine. We asked the Receptionist about best way to get to the Arena and would a taxi be best? She advised it was only a 20 minute walk so to try that after giving us directions. As it was a warm sunny evening and we had time we thought we would try that. She told us which direction to go in and walk through the Premier Inn site and follow the signs. After reaching the Premier Inn we couldn't see any signs, no one around to ask, and after reaching the halls round the back of the buildings we used Google maps on my phone to find our way. We didn't have much spare time when we arrived at the Arena so on the return trip back we took a taxi which only took 5 minutes at a cost of £5.00 rather than the 30 minutes walking! I would definitely advise people to book a taxi as it's much more convenient and the staff at the Holiday Inn should think twice before recommending walking to the Arena. Having said that it's an excellent location if you're attending the NEC. The hotel didn't seem up to the usual Holiday Inn standards as I've stayed at quite a few different ones, the carpets looked in need of vacuuming, our room had dried blood stains on the carpet and when we pulled the bedding back in the morning we noticed dried blood stains on the sheet which had been washed but the stains hadn't come out! When we had breakfast which was perfectly adequate, the staff seemed overwhelmed with stocking up the buffet dishes and frequently there were shortages of food/plates etc. A few tweaks would improve this hotel quite easily as it met our requirements really well.
Wouldn’t return here. May have scared me off holiday inn altogether to be honest. Doors banging all through the night, night owls up with the TV blaring, alarms going off from 4am. Don’t go on if you have an early start and a long day ahead.
Stayed here due to seeing a show at Resorts Arena. Couldn't fault the welcome, staff were friendly and the room was clean and beds exceptionally comfortable. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Good choice of both cooked and non-cooked foods. Although we did not use it there is plenty of parking which can be pre-paid when booking your room. It does state that you can walk to Resorts Arena, which we did but to be truthful it is far better to utilise the taxi which is what we ended up doing and for a set rate of £5 you cant grumble at that. The only disappointment with the hotel is that their main menu is not served until 6pm which is a problem when you are going to a venue and even more so when the Little Owl next door cannot cater for you either! Apart from that it is a nice hotel that suited us for what we required.
Booked hotel No info about parking being chargeable when you are booking, you find that in the small print at the bottom of hotel information and then it doesn't state the cost Had to pay an extra £7.00 or get fined Staff were very unhelpful Feel cheated Don't get caught out as the signage is poor
