The approach to the hotel ... on this wet and windy night ... with crazy traffic... was surprising as the hotel was a wall of bricks and windows as the reception was round the back. The strange appearance was emphasised by the ‘Motel’ style but on several levels almost like apartments. Nearby restaurants were handy as only (expensive) breakfasts were on offer.. we declined ... and the rooms were clean but in need of a facelift. However at a great Booking.com price it was fine for 1 night. Easy parking is a bonus. Pleasant and helpful staff but probably not the first choice next time.
Me and my family booked into this hotel on the 10th June. We got a decent price on booking.com and the pictures looked ok. However when we checked in we started speaking to some of the other guests at this hotel. We came to learn they were homeless and placed by the Birmingham council. This made us very uncomfortable as they were asking me and my wife for cigarettes and money. We all felt uneasy throughout our stay.there were drunks outside and people definitely on drugs also! We did ask for a refund straight away, but were refused. We left the hotel and checked in to the premier inn across the road which was much better even though it cost more. I will NEVER be coming again to this hotel
I stayed at Apollo for one night only. The comments about it looking like a blocks of run down council flats are true. Basic, dirty, would never stay at place like this again. Felt unsafe, lots of noice, loud music, shouting and banging on the doors early hours of the morning. My car was stolen from the hotels car park! The staff were awful. No sympathy whatsoever and no offer of a refund or a coffee. Didn't even have time to review cctv footage. They were far too busy to deal with the issue of my car being stolen as another drunken guest crashed her car into a hotels wall, caused a fight with other guests , had a person crying and lying on the reception floor, bunch of teenagers playing music and hanging around outside of the hotel, which made me feel so unsafe, destroyed, shocked... it was like living a nightmare! I would never stay there again, would not recommend to anyone and would avoid leaving a car there as you might not find it there in the morning!
I stayed here for a couple of nights, whilst I was working in the area. The staff were friendly and polite. The hotel looks like converted flats. I got put into the wrong room and then had someone else walk in wondering what I was doing there, thankfully management sorted it out. The rooms could do with a revamp. Breakfast was ok. Ok for a very short stay.
Stayed for one night. Basic accommodation but clean. Reception was helpful. Breakfast was ok but bacon had only been showed the pan. Great to have lots of parking, would be good for groups. Need taxi for bars etc as very little close by. Would stay again.
