Attend monthly for business meeting. Ordered lunch today. Food took 45 minutes to come over. As we only had an hours break spent the entire time waiting for food (was hungry as hadn’t had breakfast due to early start) Paid about £13 for a sandwich and a drink. Enquired about 30 minutes in as to where food was. Was told that there were a number of orders on at once (unsure why this was an issue as it was lunch time) When it arrived it was soggy and greasy and inedible. Didn’t eat it and didn’t have time to re order as only 10 minutes of lunch left. Informed staff behind bar to be given a half hearted apology. No offer of refund. No offer to resolve. Don’t eat lunch here if you have little time or are hungry and want something edible. Will be eating out on my further business meetings.
Stayed for a night on business; location was ideal for the NEC, £10 parking for 24h. Staff were very helpful throughout. The room was clean and tidy but too warm and the air-con was ineffective. Room was quiet until I was woken by a very noisy delivery unloading crates (possibly of food) below my room woke me at 5am and continued for long enough to ensure I didn't get back to sleep. Breakfast (served from 6am) was very good with plenty of choice.
Central London prices for an average hotel. Room was tired. Breakfast was plain, parts were cold. Breakfast staff were paying more attention to guests Sneaking in, than those trying to get a breakfast. Reception was friendly and helpful. The Carparking charge on top of the room leaves a bad taste. No electric car charging. Other hotels not far away, cheaper and the same quality. Last resort .
Not a hotel I would ever book for my self if paying for it.... But my company paid for me to stay there.... That said it's a comfortable hotel. Front desk were always helpful. The maintenance guy was very helpful when he noticed I had a problem that my room had not been serviced by 17:30hrs when I returned... he called house keeping for me and seconds later a mini team arrived to service the room. Decent bathroom / shower / all very clean - had to leave a message 4 times for house keeping to get a bulb changed in the bathroom so I could see... Asked 3 times for a laundry bag... still waiting now!!!! Think housekeeping need a look over.... Lifts were a bit slow - probably because of a busy hotel and one lift not working at all. Decor is commercial hotel AKA 1980s but as I said clean and comfortable - decent wardrobe size and drawers - especially if you are there for more than a few nights. Just off motorway / airport close by for transfers. NEC conference all walkable Free wifi is good for emails but not to stream - come on - it's 2019 - fast FREE internet is required... also, This is not a bucket shop hotel... STOP with the builders low rent toilet tissue!!! You don't understand cost here do you? If it was a decent quality - and not that much more on your costs.... LESS would be used!!! Parking at around £10 per day.... bit excessive for a plot of land off the motorway
Myself, girlfriend and parents stayed for two nights for gardeners world live, we all had an absolutely wonderful stay, the hotel is very clean, the rooms and bar were spot on. I have to make a special mention to the staff who were all so friendly and helpful ( especially the french maitre di in the lower ground restaurant!). The only slight negative I can offer is the food took a while to arrive on the Saturday evening, however it was delicious in the end and they gave us a round of drinks to make up for the wait. Looking forward to next years visit 😃
