The Moseley Arms
Stayed here 15/6/19 as was attending Backstreet Boys. Hotel and building was deceptively lovely even bathroom and I’m surprised as I get claustrophobic. Staff were superb including Nicole. Only things wrong were this morning (16/6) the bathroom smelled very musty and rancid - perhaps due to drain or lack of ventilation options? Couldn’t have shower because of it. Also wee hairdryer would be good and there was no remote for TV. Other than that all good x
I was in Birmingham for a Rockabilly two day concert and stayed here for two nights. This hotel is conveniently located for the venue at the Irish Centre, so based upon reviews here, I booked in. My two nights cost about £123, without breakfast. Breakfast was available for about £6 but I chose not to take it. My room was a twin room on the ground floor. The beds were fairly comfortable, the en suite bathroom was clean and the room was big enough. I had a problem with my kettle which didn't work on the first morning, but this was quickly changed by the staff. The well advertised TV in the room was a very basic model with no remote control and the lights behind the bed diodn't work, so for both of these things, you had to get out of bed before going to sleep - a minor inconvenience but one that is worthy of mention. After hours, you re entered the hotel through the free car park, but had to ring a number on the door to get someone to let you back in. Not the safest feeling place I have ever visited and I imagine other people would be quite concerned about this. Overall, it was okay but nothing special and to be honest, this meant it was at least 10-20-% over priced. If I come back to Birmingham, I would not use this hotel again, and would find an alternative, even if further away from the venue I was visiting. Very dated decor and just a liuttle bit scruffy and not particularly welcoming.
Had a lovely room, nice & clean. All the staff were very accommodating & everything you needed was in the room (tea, coffee etc). The 24hr bar was a bonus too. What a bargain, I highly recommend it 😊. Thanks all. Lucy & Dom
Stopped here for 1 night as was going to a gig at The Nite Owl in Digbeth, lovely pub & the new Manager was very welcoming & helpful. Lovely clean & spacious room, great nights sleep too! Will definitely stop again when next up Digbeth for a gig.
The staff were friendly, the check in was easy, the room was basic but clean and tidy, and the price was brilliant. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Would also like to personally mention Adam, the night porter/security guy, who made us some chips and cheese when he found out we'd missed all the takeaways due to a (very) late night. What a legend. Will definitely stay here again.
